What's involved in the design process?
A lot of people only see the final product when it comes to design work, but there's a lot that comes into play between initial consultation and the final product. Here's a quick overview so you have an idea of what to expect.
STEP 1 - MEET AND GREET
To get things started, we'll meet up and have a chat (maybe over a coffee). I'll ask you a number of questions about your business, your likes/dislikes and your goals for the project so that I can get a better idea of what will be involved. There is no charge for this.
STEP 2 - YES OR NO
I will contact you with a quote based on the information gathered in our meeting. If you choose to go ahead with the job, I will provide you with a contract and you will need to make a 50% deposit for the work to begin.
STEP 3 - PIECING IT TOGETHER
I begin with researching your industry, competitors, market and anything else that helps to add to the project. I will use that along with the information you provided to work up a number of rough concepts and present you with 3 to choose from.
STEP 4 - I LIKE THAT ONE
Once you choose a design, I'll digitally render it and start experimenting with colour schemes. Once the design is up to standard I will present it to you for feedback.
STEP 5 - A LITTLE TO THE LEFT
From here we can make any necessary tweaks to the design. Your quoted price will include 2 rounds of adjustments. Any further adjustments will be charged at an hourly rate.
STEP 6 - THIS IS FOR YOU
Once you are happy with the final product and finalise payment, I will provide you with a package containing the completed files. For branding projects, you will also receive a style guide which will provide details on each file and how to use your brand consistently for any future application.
